Cigna Healthcare Headquarters - Morris Plains, New Jersey

When Cigna made the decision to move their 650,000 SF headquarters in Franklin Lakes to Morris Plains, New Jersey, SNS was tasked with creating a new office space and conferencing area for Cigna Healthcare along with an innovation ‘Lab’ and presentation space for Evernorth Health Services, a division of Cigna.

For the Evernorth Lab, SNS created a reception and presentation space for clients as well as a collaborative innovation hub for employees. SNS worked with the Evernorth team to develop a sequence of spaces used to engage clients and display information through the use of technology. The Evernorth brand was carefully integrated into the space, from the ceiling and lighting design, to the custom window film.

The goal for the remaining Cigna office space was to accommodate the various departments and support spaces needed for Cigna’s relocation. SNS acknowledged the energy already spent to renovate the existing office space for a previous tenant, and therefore, strategically studied how to enhance the space for Cigna’s needs while preserving and repurposing as much of the existing space as possible. This created an environment that’s sustainable, yet innovative to Cigna’s operational needs and corporate culture.
