Piotr Flis works as a structural engineer at SNS. He graduated from Politechnika Swietokrzyska in Kielce, Poland. He received Master of Science in Civil Engineering with major in Structural Engineering in 1989. After studies in Poland, he moved to the US in 1989.
From 1990 to 1999 he worked for Marcal Paper Mills in Elmwood Park, NJ on various positions. He operated paper production machinery, prepared daily production reports, trained new employees and worked as an assistant supervisor. In the meantime, he was getting ready to begin his career in civil engineering. In 1997 he started graduated studies in New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ. In 2000 he received Master of Science in Civil Engineering with major in Construction Engineering and Management.
He worked for SNS Architects & Engineers from 1999 to 2005 on various jobs to gain design experience. In 2005 he passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam and Principles and Practices of Engineering exam together with New Jersey Law exam. He has become licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey. His education has been certified by National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) allowing him to be licensed in other states, if required.
In 2006 he started new job at Systra Consulting Inc. He worked on railroad project in Newark, NJ and renovation of major transportation hub in NYC. Since 2007 to present, he has been working as a structural engineer for SNS Architects & Engineers, PC on various commercial and institutional projects.
